Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions. If you need further assistance call 1-800-270-1389 or send us a message.

Admissions

How do I get admitted into your treatment programs?

Admission begins with a simple phone call. This is followed by a free consultation and assessment with a licensed counselor. If you meet the criteria and want to enroll at 1 Method, we then begin the intake process. This includes determining treatment cost, insurance coverage, and payment options.

How quickly can I get into treatment?

Same day admissions are available if you’re paying privately. We can accommodate most insurance-approved admissions as quickly as within the first 24 hours following your initial phone consultation. There are exceptions (such as times with limited bed availability) when special circumstances prevent us from doing so.

What airport is closest to 1 Method?

Los Angeles International (LAX) is the most convenient.

How do I get from the airport to the program?

Staff will be waiting at the airport when you land to welcome you and transport you here. They will meet you at baggage claim. This is a courtesy service. All we need is your flight information and itinerary.

Should I bring my medications?

Yes. Please bring any medications that are currently prescribed in your name — in their original prescription bottle.

What should I pack?

We want you to have a dignified and comfortable experience. Books, pictures, and other comforts from home are fine. Most people pack as they would for a short vacation. The checklist below details what you should definitely bring. If you have additional questions, please call 1-800-270-1389:

  • Season-appropriate, casual and recreation/work-out clothes
  • Cash, debit/credit card for small expenses
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Your medications
  • Insurance card
  • Photo ID

What do I stand to gain from residential treatment at 1 Method?

1 Method is a fully immersive experience that allows you to retreat from the pressures and stress of your world in order to get to the root of the problems, restructure your priorities, and develop a healthier sense of self. You will gain the space and time you need to diagnose the core issues, get proper care, and move forward in life. Residential care with us offers a comprehensive, 1-on-1 approach that affirms – perhaps for the first time – a sense of meaning and purpose. The process clears a path for you to the best version of yourself. You will gain insight, learn new coping tools and acquire self-care strategies that afford you the opportunity to practice these new skills in an intimate setting guided by a dedicated therapist and team focused on your growth. In short, the 1 Method program is a transformative experience.

Learn more about Residential Treatment.

Where are you located?

We are located in Cheviot Hills and Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California. Take a virtual tour of our facilities here.

How many people do you treat at one time?

We offer 4 residential locations in Cheviot Hills and Beverly Hills. Each property is similar to a high-end boutique hotel and accommodates only six people. Thus, beds are limited and we tend to run in high demand. If you would like to reserve a space we suggest letting us know sooner rather than later.

Will there be a TV in my room?

Yes. Every bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen television and a premium cable package.

Is smoking allowed at the facility?

Yes. Although we might discourage you from using tobacco products, you can smoke in designated smoking areas. We offer smoking cessation treatment – if you’re interested.

Are electronic cigarettes allowed at the facility?

Yes. Although we might discourage you from using e-cigarettes, you can vape in designated areas. Some types of handhelds and juices will not be approved. We also offer nicotine cessation treatment – if you’re interested.

What do I do about my job while in treatment?

Depending on your company, its size and your position in it, you have several options that include taking unpaid leave, FMLA, or short or long-term disability. Call to speak with an admissions counselor if you need guidance on how to request time off or take a leave of absence. Our doctors can complete any paperwork that’s required by your company while you’re here. We will also do whatever we can to encourage your professional success and help you maintain good standing with your employer.

How do I know my treatment will be kept confidential?

Your privacy is of utmost importance and we value it before, during and after your stay with us. All information you provide to us is CONFIDENTIAL and qualifies as private, health-related information protected by law. We take our pledge to honor your privacy very seriously.

Will I have my own room?

All our living arrangements are well appointed, comfortable and dignified. The atmosphere is comparative to home, or a high-end boutique hotel. We offer both private and semi-private suites that are based on availability. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to take a facility tour. If you are local, please come see us in-person. Simply call 1-800-270-1389 to set up an appointment.

Am I allowed to be in touch with family members and loved ones during my stay?

Yes. When you arrive at our facility, there is sometimes a short period (72 hours) where the phone is inaccessible. During that time we’ll assist you in making calls to whomever you’d like, so that you can assure them all is well. During your stay, you will be able to communicate regularly with loved ones by phone, email, or Zoom.

What kind of food do you serve?

1 Method is staffed with professional chefs. Meals are prepared and served in the dining room. You will have three meals a day and many snack options. Locally sourced organic foods are served whenever possible.

Do you accommodate special diets?

Yes. We can accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions. Our staff nutritionist will also answer any questions you might have.

How often will I see my individual therapist?

During your stay you’ll interact with therapists, psychologists, counselors, doctors, nurses, and social workers daily, and be assigned a personal therapist with whom you will meet regularly for individual sessions. Your treatment plan will be customized to your needs.

What are my responsibilities during residential treatment? (Do I make my own bed, do laundry, prepare my meals, etc.?)

1 Method is widely considered the leading therapeutic experience in Southern California for addiction, dual diagnosis, and mental health issues. To that end, we prefer that you focus on recovery and healing than scrubbing floors. Our chefs will be preparing all your meals. And for the most part, everything will be taken care of for you. However, we do ask you to keep your room tidy, including your bed, and that you help keep common areas clean.

Are you co-ed?

Yes. All of our programs are co-ed.

Will my loved one get help for their Bipolar/Anxiety/Depression, etc.?

Yes, our comprehensive program treats addiction, dual diagnosis, and mental health issues. For a list of the many issues we treat at 1 Method visit What We Treat.

Besides group and individual sessions, what kinds of activities do you offer?

We offer a wide range of activities as part of our program including personal training, hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains, surfing, bike rides, beach walks, bodywork, chiropractic, and yoga. Everything listed here is included in the cost of treatment and isn’t an exhaustive list. We believe that your downtime is important and we’ve created a pristine environment where you can also relax poolside or above the garden terrace and enjoy a good book.

Is visitation allowed?

Yes. We have visiting hours on the weekends. For those coming from out of town, we can accommodate a special visiting schedule.

Program Fees and Health Insurance

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cashier’s checks, wire transfers, and cash. We do not accept personal or uncertified checks. If your credit card is linked to your bank account, your bank may impose a daily limit. In certain cases, you can remove that limit by contacting your bank. If payment is by wire transfer, the funds must be received prior to admission. Keep in mind that funds from overseas may take several days to transfer.

How much does treatment cost?

The cost of treatment depends on which program you attend and what services you require. Some people only complete a short 7-day medical detoxification, while some stay for several weeks or months. The cost of treatment will vary based on these factors, health insurance, and the length of time you stay. We often discount the cost of treatment for prompt payment. That’s much less expensive than paying week by week or month to month. If you know how long you want to be here and which program(s) you want to attend, call us to get an exact quote. You can also submit your health insurance to see if your plan will reduce the cost.

Are there any hidden fees in the cost of treatment?

If using health insurance, your usual co-payments are required. Otherwise, the cost of medication (if applicable) is the only hidden fee at 1 Method. This is an important question to ask when choosing a treatment center. When looking online, programs often appear to provide services that are not included in their upfront fee, such as: psychiatric assessments, mental health evaluations, massage, or even therapy. At 1 Method, everything within our scope of practice is included in the cost of treatment.

Do family services cost extra?

No. Individual, couples, and individual family therapy are included in the cost of treatment. Family members and loved ones also receive 12 months of post-treatment family support and coaching.

What if a person leaves treatment early?

We have a no refund policy. If an individual leaves treatment they will gain a Term Credit on account with 1 Method Center that is non-transferable. We have a very high program completion rate but from time to time, some leave before completing treatment and return later to finish or restart. Term Credit can be accessed for up to 12-months.

Do you offer payment plans?

We do not offer payment plans.

What about insurance? How does that work?

1 Method Center accepts most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network (OON) provider. To find out whether your health insurance will cover your treatment, follow these steps:

  1. Submit your insurance plan here.
  2. A specialist will review your benefits.
  3. We’ll call you back with your coverage information.

If you have benefits for treatment at 1 Method, a counselor will do a brief assessment with you and proceed with the admissions process. If we cannot use your insurance we’ll provide you with a Superbill. This will include diagnostic, ICD, and CPT codes. We work with claim expeditors that can electronically submit and manage your Superbill. They charge a 10% of gross fee. This tends to result in faster processing and higher reimbursement.

Does insurance cover long-term treatment at 1 Method?

Yes, most PPO insurance plans allow for short, medium, and long-term treatment. We only accept plans that have benefits available across multiple levels of care. That allows us to predict what length and type of treatment the insurance will cover. In most instances, you will be required to complete an Assignment of Benefits Form.

We do not accept:

  • LA-Care
  • Medicare
  • Medi-Cal
  • Medicaid

To use these forms of coverage visit SAMHSA Find Treatment or call 1-800-662-4357.
